Bond

performance for public spaces in Venice, 2016

In Venice there is a struggle for resources and territory. Nobody has enough space in the streets of Venice.

Bond explores one of the most successful strategies in this fight: holding hands. The performers hold hands and lean far apart. They span a larger space between them than a strolling pair of lovers. They lean on each other. As individuals they couldn't take up that much space for themselves. The performers convert the romantic gesture into an aggressive one. They become a fortress in the streets of Venice.
